Like we Needed More Reasons to Love Grigor Dimitrov

Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov has given us plenty of reasons to love him (we count six, maybe eight), but here’s the nail on the coffin: His favorite designer? Alexander McQueen. (See the Q&A here.)

BTW, congrats to Grigor for cracking the ATP Top 150 — he’s now at 136 — after winning back-to-back-to-back Challengers this year. (ATP: Grigor’s stats).

And speaking of McQueen, Sarah Burton, who’s succeeded Mr. McQueen (RIP) as creative director, presented the Spring 2011 men’s collection this past June in Milan. The women’s collection will show in Paris this week. One thing we’ll know not to expect from Burton are the fashion house’s infamous, over-the-top presentations. “That was very much [his] territory — the spectacular show,” Burton told Elle.

Another Prodigal Pictorial: Anna Chakvetadze Graces Portoroz

So for the second time this week I have a prodigy on my plate. Anna Chakvetadze once held the number five position of the world but has fallen to 111. Though many of us are waiting for a prodigal return of Anna to the top 10,  I don’t see it happen for now.  She is only 23 so keep in mind that she could bounce back at any point but I am not holding my breath.

And even though I don’t expect a comeback anytime soon, she still looks good on photo. And photographer Ralf Reinecke thinks so too.

IS IT A BIRD? IS IT A PLANE? WHAT EXACTLY IS ALONA BONDARENKO LOOKING AT?

And the photos just keep strolling in.  This time we got Alona Bondarenko and I was just reading my edition of Superman when this photo came in. It made me wonder:

What is Alona Bondarenko looking at? Let me know what you think she is looking at:

And we got more pics of Alona Bondarenko, who unfortunately suffered a defeat versus Li Na in Madrid today. Losing 6-3, 6-4.

COLE KNOWS FASHION, SO DOES MARIA SHARAPOVA

I am impressed by our newest writer Melina Harris’ article. Her latest article about your image affecting your success was very thought provocative.

One person who understands fashion on court is one of the keys to success is Maria Sharapova.

She recently collaborated with fashion photographer  Todd “The Selby” Selby  for Cole Haan to create a new advertisement campaign called “The Inspired Life”.

The imagery celebrates family, friends, art, nature, community, competition, adventure, and love–the forces that drive and color our lives.

The campaign portrays real life individuals wearing Cole Haan, chosen for their unique approaches to life and style, reflective of the Cole Haan brand. Each individual was shot in their natural environment, producing a campaign that reveals everyday interests rendered meaningful and beautiful.

I totally love the photo  and decided to post it here. For more information please visit http://www.colehaan.com/

CARO’S DINNER: OH WHAT A LIFE IT WOULD BE!

Like we mentioned yesterday in our post: Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki are close friends and attended dinner together. I went out and tried to find some good photos of that. But photos of the event, unfortunately, are scarce. Lucky for me, I did find one and it’s a beauty.

@vika7 Seriously girl! You looked great! You will look good even in a potato sack! And you looked cool!

I couldn’t have said it better myself. I tried, honest!

And don’t they look cute together? I do think so. I’d dine with them any time. Well ofcourse that would require an invite to a dinner party in the first place. But I have a vivid imagination.  Ofcourse that would mean I’d have to vividly imagine Caroline, the dinner table, the other attending guests, the wine and so forth. Anyway you get the picture. No wait, I get the picture.  A very very vivid picture…

Enjoy the photo!

JELENA JANKOVIC LOSES IN FIRST ROUND BUT STILL LOOKS GOOD ON PHOTO!

Jelena Jankovic has lost her first round match versus Agnes Szavay (5-7, 6-1, 7-5)  at the Medibank International in Sydney. It’s quite the surprise but judging from the scoreline, she really did try. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough.  And hopefully she will do better at the Australian Open next week. Personally that’s what I am hoping for.

Anyway since we won’t get to see any photos of Jelena Jankovic anymore, unless it’s her training in Melbourne, I am just going to spoil you with the following images submitted to me.

As an extra added bonus I have added a photo of Jelena and Ana Ivanovic in bikinis.

Oh and I inserted another poll in this one too. Let us know what you think and cast a vote!

ATP World Tour Finals Draw All ATwitter

The following is a photo posted on the Twitter account of the Bryan Brothers – Bob and Mike (@BryanBros) that reveals the groupings for the Barclay’s ATP World Tour Finals in London. The brothers posted a tweet with the photo that said “You Heard It From Me First :)” but then amended their tweet shortly thereafter, tweeting “Ok, ok, a couple people beat me to it. You heard it from me 3rd. I’ll speed it up next time.”

Macau Sure Knows How To Promote Things

An interesting picture was sent to us today. It’s a photo of a tram design for the October Macau exhibition tournament. 17 year old tennis star Ryan Harrison will feature.    Harrison will play alongside Pete Sampras ,  Andre Agassi and junior number one Yuki Bhambri.

It’s really a lovely poster and we couldn’t keep it away from you even if we wanted to.
