Scot Andy Murray has been on the go ever since his U.S. Open win last Monday, doing media tours, photoshoots and even paying a visit to his childhood hometown, Dunblane over the weekend.
And Monday was no different as Murray, alongside girlfriend Kim Sears, hit London Fashion Week for his yearly visit to the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer fashion show.
Murray traded in his tennis racquet for a simple ensemble of a grey sweater and jeans, while Sears looked sophisticated in a cream dress, tan double belt detail and matching clutch and nude stilettos. Even after their whirlwind week, the couple still manages to look happy and fairly refreshed. And Kim certainly brought her best accessories — I just can’t decide which one is best: her gorgeous hair, baby blues, or Andy. It’s a draw.
And spotted mingling with the tennis star and his belle at the show was none other than Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Wintour has been making the tennis rounds recently as she not only attended the U.S. Open, but dined with Roger Federer for his 31st birthday and hit up Novak Djokovic’s charity function last week. I guess she knows a good time when she sees one!

True to his word of having “days without tennis” in order to get over his loss to Andy Murray in the U.S. Open final, Novak Djokovic hosted an inaugural dinner for his Foundation in downtown Manhattan venue Capitale just two days later, and welcomed celebrities from all walks of life. (Video at bottom.)
The endless stream of celebrity arrivals included royals, business moguls, fashion designers, tennis greats and top models, including tennis commentator John McEnroe, the Duchess and Princess of York, fashion designers Donna Karan and Tommy Hilfiger, fashion editor Anna Wintour and models Anja Rubik and Karlie Kloss among dozens of others.
Novak Djokovic also caught up with tennis great John McEnroe and shared a few laughs:
Donna Karan (L) and Tommy Hilfiger enjoyed each other’s company:
Proud parents, Dijana and Srdjan Djokovic arrived looking fabulous:
John McEnroe happily greeting the smiling Djokovics during the dinner:
Founded in 2007 and inspired by his work as an ambassador for UNICEF, the Novak Djokovic Foundation seeks to help children in Serbia “have the education and resources to lead productive and healthy lives” according to the Foundation’s website. While Djokovic serves as the Founder and Honorary Chair of the Foundation, Donna Karan, Anja Rubik, producer Milutin Gatsby and business tycoon Ronald Burkle act as Chairs.
A special guest of note was motivational speaker Nick Vujicic who suffers from tetra-amelia syndrome – a rare disorder where individuals are born with no limbs. Born in Australia to Serbian immigrants, Vujicic has written a book speaking on the challenges he has overcome and encourages others to lead an active life.
The evening featured cocktails, dinner, a live auction and special performances, with Djokovic entertaining the guests with his charisma and mega-watt smile. Is there anything this man can’t do!?
Novak Djokovic entertains the crowd and, wait — is that a miniature tennis racquet he is auctioning off!? It seems that not only did he auction off a pair of his Audemars Piguet watches, but also himself!

Roger Federer celebrated his belated 31st birthday at the Beatrice Inn in New York City, mingling with a select group of celebrities, fashion divas and tennis friends. Fashion mogul and long-time personal friend of Federer, Anna Wintour threw an exclusive birthday bash for the tennis king.
Not only was Wintour’s Vogue photographer on hand to capture the evening’s festivities, but fashion designers Vera Wang and Diane von Fürstenberg even live-tweeted some intimate moments!
The full round up of photos is below, but a few things come to attention:
- Aside from Federer’s personal entourage of coaches, Tommy Haas is the only active tennis player invited. No Swiss BFFs Stan and Marco.
- That is A LOT of top fashion divas in one place, ie Anna Wintour, Vera Wang, Diane von Fürstenberg. Did they go in the back after the party and have a walk-off?
- It’s no surprise to see Nicole Kidman and Bradley Cooper at the party as they’re both avid US Open attendees, but did they come together?
- Roger Federer never, I mean never, has a bad hair day. Even on low-quality snapshots his mane looks expertly coifed from any angle.
- Can I get a replica of that incredible cake at my next tennis-themed party?
- Speaking of the cake, the US Open title tally on the front of the cake reminded me that Federer hasn’t won the US Open since … 2008?!
- And the Roland Garros tally – which consists of one lone title — is hidden away on the rear of the cake.
- Last question: how did Karolina Kurkova, a Czech model, get invited? Tennis’ strange connections remain a mystery …

The superhero team of Venus Williams and Andre Leon Talley strike again, this time arriving together for the Costume Institute’s gala opening of the exhibition “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Venus came out in a Carolina Herrera gown with Fred Leighton jewels while Andre wore Giorgio Armani; both were shrouded by a red Chanel cape apropos for the occasion.
George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Anna Wintour, and Armani chaired the $15,000-a-head gala that brought out the A-listers.
Wintour wore Chanel Haute Couture (by none other than Karl Lagerfeld) — think bighorn sheep circa 2050 — while the men’s best dressed included Zac Posen in a royal blue tux and hottie Marc Jacobs in classic black with muse Sofia Coppola in tow.
From the Telegraph:
Inside the museum, guests were dwarfed by 30ft statues of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, contemporary versions of the ancient superheroes sculpted in marble in the museum’s Graeco-Roman gallery.
The “Superheroes” exhibition opens with a mirrored illusion of Clark Kent morphing into Superman and features radical catwalk creations by some of the world’s top designers and comic book costumes from Hollywood blockbusters such as Spiderman and Batman.
Pride of place is given to the heavy-metal suit-of-armour worn by Robert Downey Jr in “Iron Man”, the new movie which took more than £50 million at the box office on its opening weekend. Dinner was served in the Met’s 15 B.C. Egyptian Temple of Dendur, with tables arranged amidst massive sculptures of ‘Kryptonite’.
