I just can’t get enough…we need more Maria Sharapova
And I just can’t get enough by Depeche Mode is the song I had in mind when I was writing the article. And I really can’t get enough of Maria Sharapova. Why ? I don’t know. Maybe it’s the enchanting looks? Perhaps it’s her sexy accent. Or maybe I just find her shrieking when she strikes a ball on the court very attractive. I don’t know and I am not going to keep wondering but just enjoy while it lasts.
Maria Sharapova was injured for quite a long time and but is on her way back to the top. And we can sure use her. I have read some articles where the writer wondered if Sharapova has a backup plan. I thought to myself: A backup plan for what? She makes 25 million dollars a year on sponsorships alone and she’s isn’t even 25 yet. But apparently Sharapova’s been tossing the ball before tennispractice to warm up her shoulder. It’s a good thing. A premature exit from tennis for Sharapova would be a shame for tennis and its’ fans.
Anyone who watched Wimbledon this year may have noticed that the pretty ladies played on Centre Court. Not just Maria Sharapova but Maria Kirilenko as well and many more goodlooking girls. Apparently the Wimbledon organisation picked looks over good tennis. Is that fair? No, I don’t think so. When I want to watch a match then I want to see high quality tennis in an exciting match. Highly skilled players who passionately fight for every ball. Not some goodlooking barbie, if I want to see any of those I’ll just tune in to Egotastic.com. But then again who am I to say that? After all this column written by me isn’t about the highly skilled and proficient players of the WTA. It’s about the sexy side of tennis.

What’s unfair about the Wimbledon Centre-Court scheduling is that before the quarter-finals, there’s only one women’s match and two men’s best-of-five matches.
They always try to put a competitive women’s match on Centre – not necessarily one involving a top seed. If beauty was the deciding factor, why would they have put Safina v Mauresmo on Centre on the second Monday?
