There is one minor error, however, that may not change the fact that Simon&#039;s match is meaningless.

If Fed beats Murray in straight sets, Murray wins 4/7 sets, not 4/6. Thus, if Simon beats Stepanek in straight sets, then Murray and Simon are both 2-1 &amp; 4/7. How is this tie broken for 2nd place in the Red Group? Does it go to Murray since he beat Simon?

If Fed beats Murray in 3 sets, Murray and Fed are both 2-1 &amp; 5/8, so I assume they would both qualify for the semis. But how is the tie broken for 1st place in the Red Group? Does it go to Fed since he will have beaten Murray? It&#039;s only important because I am sure Federer would prefer not to play the 1st place finisher in the Gold Group (likely Djokovic) as opposed to Davydenko or Del Potro who have never beat him.
