Nicole Vaidisova has made a triumphant return to tennis playing her first match since reaching the semi finals at the Australian Open.

In her first round match at the Open Gaz de France she faced French Aravane Rezai and breezed past her opponent in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.

Vaidisova setup a clash with fellow countrywoman , Czech Lucie Safarova whom she beat at the Australian Open.

The Open Gaz de France is the first tournament for Nicole Vaidisova since the Australian Open where she made another huge impression by reaching the semi’s. She eventually lost to future champion Serena Williams.
