Vaidisova Looking To Hold Momentum In Paris

Nicole Vaidisova returns to active play on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour this week at the Open Gaz de France in Paris. She is the number 5 seed and faces a French woman in the first round of a weakened Open Gaz de France field due to withdrawals of Kim Clijsters and Elena Dementieva.

Looking to hold momentum

Nicole Vaidisova will want to hold on a little longer to the form that brought her to the Semi finals of the Australian Open. She eventually lost to later winner Serena Williams in straight sets but that doesn’t mean she should be off form or lacking confidence. If anything her confidence should have gotten a major booster for reaching the semi’s.

Vaidisova is the current number 9 of the Sony Ericcsson WTA Tour and she is the fifth seed at the Open Gaz de France in Paris. She will start her European indoor court campaign versus French Arvane Rezai.

Family Circle Cup

In other news Vaidisova has also entered the Family Circle Cup, she signed up along with Jelena Jankovic. The tournament has a strong field this year with 7 of the top 10 players commited to come play the tournament which is scheduled between April 9 - April 15.

Other contestants of the Family Circle Cup are Maria Sharapova, Martina Hingis, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Amelie Mauresmo and Justine Henin.
