When in Rome do as the Romans do: Sharapova needs your help, Wozniacki enjoys football match, Ana Ivanovic given wild card
What I really like about Facebook and Twitter is that you can find many fans and many players on the mediums. Players like Ana Ivanovic or Maria Sharapova, can now talk to you directly instead of using some PR agency or whatever is used to keep you up to date. Ofcourse there are some people who shouldn’t use it. Or at least not take back what they said and then delete the entire Twitter account because that sort thing of makes you look weak. And I think the rawness is one of the charming things of Twitter and Facebook. And on that note I have decided to do a little Facebook / Twitter round up.
Ana Ivanovic given wild card for Internationaux Strasbourg
As Ana writes on her Facebook page:
I’m grateful to have been given a wild card into Strasbourg. I feel that I need to play as many matches as possible before the French Open, to find my rhythm. It will also be fun to play a new tournament.
And the best part is that we will have our staff photographer Ralf Reinecke on the scene to take some breathtaking photos. Just like he did for the Mutua Madrid Open.
When in Rome…Maria Sharapova talks
Maria Sharapova talks about being in Rome and how she adapts her game for the clay season.
And she also needs help with her new Facebook profile photo.
Good evening from Rome, I hope everyone had a great mother’s day yesterday. I missed my Mommy yesterday!! I was kind of thinking today after practice that it is time for a new facebook photo, the current photo has been there way too long. It would only be right to allow you my fans to pick the photo. The most popular photo will become my new profile photo. Have fun!!!!
For the record, this is my favorite photo and it has my vote to become her new Facebook profile picture:
Caroline Wozniacki goes Roma…
But still watches Liverpool FC. I wonder what she thinks of Luís Suarez who was recently bought from Ajax Amsterdam. He is an amazing player and definitely one of the top transfers of the 2011 winter transfer period. Chelsea can pick up a thing or two of the Liverpool transfer policy.
Here’s me watching the Liverpool FC game last night with my Dad and Stan Wawrinka. It was a great game for the reds, beat Fulham 5-2! Playing my first match at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia tomorrow against Anastasia Rodionova.
Victoria Azarenka flies from Madrid to Rome…
…and straight to a press conference. What is this woman made of? No Jetlag or whatever, just hop in, hop out and go straight through. It must be a special mutant power.
But it showed that Vika was a little down of her loss versus Petra Kvitova. At least that’s implied, just a little on her Facebook message.
Not my day yesterday but Petra played excellent so all the credit to her. I had a great week at the Mutua Madrileña Madrid Open and I’m looking forward to the Internazionali BNL d’Italia and all the other challenges ahead!

Just take a moment…
…and enjoy winning 32 straight matches in a row. That’s what Novak Djokovic and his fans must have thought when they posed for this photo.
